Requires: U.S. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Interior or Graphic Design. Requires one year of experience as Designer, rendering graphics, technical drawings, and layout designs for residential or commercial projects using design software such as AutoCAD or CorelDraw.
Job duties for the position include:
Plan and design practical and aesthetic counters and cabinetry for residential or commercial spaces. Confer with other professionals such as engineering, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts. Inspect construction work on site to ensure adherence to design plans. Design interior environments, preparing sketches of client countertop ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or blueprints, using drafting instruments, and design software such as AutoCAD or CorelDraw. Modify and refine designs based on location measurements, confirming dimensions of technical drawings, using working models, to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends. Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, and product availability. Confer with clients to determine factors affecting planning of countertop installation such as budget, style preferences, purpose, and function. Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval and discuss need for modification.
